TOWN OF VIENNA TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 6, 2023
Supervisor Davis called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Pledge of Allegiance
COUNTY LEGISLATOR NORMAN LEACH:
Mr. Leach gave his report that Sales Tax for the Town of Vienna was almost up to 4%, Oneida Indian Nation sales tax was up 5%. $215,000 was available for the purchase of Body Armor and Guns for the Sherrif’s Department. There is a $40,000 grant for water way protection and no tax increase this year. There is also a Sherrif’s Camera Program for buses to attach a camera to the arm of the bus that captures pictures of vehicles that do not obey the bus laws.
BBS & Camden School District are not participating.
NOCCOG REPRESENTATIVE JOE ROWLANDS:
Mr. Rowlands went over newly elected Town Officials and Judges Training School Dates and NYS Tug Hill Commission 2024 Local Government Conferences.

Notice of 7 Public Hearings were published in the Queen Central News and the Town’s Website.
- Public Hearing to Repeal Local Laws 2003-1, 2006-1, and 2021-2 BAR date hearings.

Questions were: Why the Elected Town Clerk can not make her own hours and when can taxes be collected because new hours do not agree with the hours listed on the tax bills that already were printed.

OLD BUSINESS:
Water Extension- Still waiting for final information from Engineer.
Broad Ban-There have been residents complaining about lawn disturbance. Supervisor assured that lawns will be fixed. There also have been possible breakage of culvert pipes.
Cell Tower-Status Update was given.
Ambulance Contract-Vinal Ambulance Service will start January 1, 2024. Will go over contract at the December 27th Board Meeting.

A motion was made by Councilman Spellicy and seconded by Councilman Smith to approve training for Carol Huber the new Town Clerk and Phil Amway the Assessor.

A motion was made by Supervisor Davis and seconded by Councilman Lamb to enter into Executive session for discussion of personnel hiring at 8.57 pm.
