PUBLIC HEARING – Opt-Out of Real Property Tax Law

Phil Amway would like to clarify information that was posted in the Queen Central News. The exemption runs 15 years and the life span for solar is typically 25 years. 5% is a target number and will be negotiated. The host community payment is based on the size of the community. Board action is required to opt-out of the exemption. None of our tax goes to the State any tax revenues that are received will be divided between the schools, county, and town. It is the Town Boards intention to opt-out of the tax exemption.

A motion was made by Councilman Lamb and seconded by Councilman Smith to open the public hearing at 7:15PM. Motion Carried.

A motion was made by Supervisor Davis and seconded by Councilman Lamb to close the public hearing at 7:20PM. Motion Carried.
